What we are doing

Our research aims to study the development of children in the context of their families and their experiences in early child care and in school. We want to understand these experiences which influence their socio-emotional and cognitive development. We focus especially on the positive development of children who recently migrated or fled with their families to Germany: Which recourses are at their disposal, which paths of development are they using in their multilingual and culturally diverse environments within their families, friends, early child care, schools or neighborhoods? Based on empirical foundations we want our research to contribute to scientific progress and to provide practical advice to politics.
